August 7th Meeting – with Ingrid Pape-Sheldon

SPPA August 7th Meeting

Do you feel like you sometimes don’t really capture the true personality of your business portrait clients?  Would you like to know how the masters get just the right expression and mood, and really tell the story of their subjects in a portrait?

Come hear the incites and techniques of one of our premier local business and environmental portrait experts: Ingrid Pape-Sheldon.  Hear and see how she uses environment and a true connection with her subjects to make portraits that evoke real character.

“Ingrid is talking about her approach to headshot photography and her environmental portrait work for Seattle woman magazine.”

Ingrid’s bio:

“Ingrid Pape-Sheldon is an award winning photographer noted for her environmental portrait work in Seattle Woman Magazine. She works from her Ballard studio and on location in the Seattle area. Photographing many professionals Ingrid creates images of her clients that show them as competent and in their own power, yet also reveal them as vibrant,  warm and approachable. When recently asked what motivates her, Ingrid answered: “To see a person’s beauty emerge in front of my camera by coming into their presence and falling into their own skin.”

Ingrid has an BA in Art from the Fachhochschule fuer Gestaltung in Hannover, Germany, and a Master of Arts in Literature and Philosophy at the University Hannover. She did concept, direction, cinematography, sound, and editing of short films in the 80s which were shown at international festivals. Since moving from Berlin / Germany to the USA in 1997 she focuses on photography and has her fulltime business since 2003. She specializes in headshots, portraiture, editorial and comercial photography.”

Program starts at 7:00pm.
Print competition check-in ends at 6:45pm.
A drawing will be held for the Featured Photographer at each monthly meeting.   All of the prints entered are assigned a number, and a drawing will be held at the end of the meeting to select one print number – the person who submitted that print will be the month’s Featured Photographer!
